A truly distinctive sounding EP, in part down to the mixing/mastering. There's a crisp precision to the high frequencies that makes it all sound so open, a refreshing break from the tape-saturated sound that's everywhere at the moment.
That's not to say the music doesn't have murky atmospheric layers though. The sonic depth and detail is fascinating. Melodically, it's familiar but never too predictable.
